“Who are Today’s Patriots?”
There are many patriots in the world today. There are three that stand out to me, and those are the armed forces, volunteers, and firefighters. However, there are many more, but I thought these groups are important. Most of these groups give what ever they the can, including their lives, to protect and defend our country, and to make it a better place. We should be thankful for what all these people do for us.
Next, volunteers such as the Red Cross and The Salvation Army give support and money during a national disaster. Also, they raise money for children’s gifts at Christmas time. Groups like these are always trying to give something back. Due to hurricane Katrina, many groups, such as the Red Cross, are giving help to the people who need it.
Last, I would have to say the firefighters are patriots, because they have been important to U.S after September eleventh and hurricane Katrina. Thousands of firefighters were lost in the disaster of September eleventh. They risk their lives for people in need every day. Now due to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, firefighters are needed to help people that are still during the effects of these hurricanes.
In conclusion, the patriots I named are always to give something back or protecting what we have. All of these people are trying to make our country a better place. These people give whatever they can, and it doesn’t matter if it is their money or their lives. We Americans should look up to these people and follow what they do.
